Thank you for your extensive and appropriate response. My apoligies for my confusion.

I had some tests in a catscan/mri type machine which confirmend extensive bone growth(activity) through my spine and a blood test confirmed that I have the genetic marker for it. Fortunately there are immune suppresent drugs which have dramtically reduced my pain and even increased some of my mobility. I have some fusion but it is confined to my sacro-iliac joint and my lower vertebrae. The inflamation and pain stop once the bones are fused.

Anyway, Thanks again and if you are interested in viewing my WPblog it is at http://sonarmark.wordpress.com/ Have a great day

The cases from 1290 in the Mamluks ignore their predilection for travel and in the absence of PCR or DNA the differential diagnosis remains formidable tropical fungal infection, Langerhans cell histiocytosis ( a condition prone to wax or remit), untreated osteomyelitis, mycobacterial infection. One's experience from clinical pathology is that there is no such thing as a classical case or classical appearances and that histology, DNA and PCR are the ultimate determinants of 'The Truth'. All mycobacterial infections cause the same degree of bone change and ignores the impact of other infections such as Brucella, Salmonella at one's peril. The presence of a sequestrum or an involucrum merely tells on that there was osteomyelitis.

I also tried to comment at on your previous chicken post, but it didn't work - here it is:

I suspect that the origin of some chickens (yellow-skinned ones as in Europe) do have some admixture of grey jungle fowl, but 'native' chickens in SE Asia are pure-bred, from red jungle fowl.
Take a look at the chickens at:
http://www.coconutstudio.com/Chickens.htm
They all have white legs.
The uncle of my 'general factotum' still goes to the Marshes of Agusan on Mindanao to trap wild red jungle fowl for crossing with his own fighting birds.

I imagine there was a great deal of cross-breeding going on in SE Asia before THE chicken got to Europe.

and, to prove it.......

Darwin was NEVER wrong!
